Questions about the map and your listing

  • All digital maps can only have one dot per address. This means that if multiple artists/exhibitions are showing at the same venue - you have two choices.

    • The first option is to pay for one registration only and have one one dot/number on the map - this will give you one “detail card” with your image, description, opening times and links etc under the map. So your website/instagram link will be there to show all the individual artists - or if you have a list of artiists in the description each of these can link to their web/insta - we will contact you for this info in April / May

    • The second option is to do one registration for the venue as per above. But then any individual artist who also wants their own '“detail card” can do a registration submission under the same venue address. This registration will have the same map reference number/dot (or be part of consectively numbered dots) but will have its own “detail card” under the map with all the individual artist details and image etc. This artist will also have their own separate detail on the printed map too - but with the same map reference as the venue.

This implementation will take place once we work on digital and physical map in April and May - so don’t worry if you can’t see your dot (hidden by another dot at the same location) on the map just yet.

Feel free to contact us if you need to discuss further - the main point is that we will sort out how to implement this so it is clear on the map and each detail card can be found easily from the map :)

  • Yes - if you just add the names of the artists in the description - we will contact you for the links when we work on the map in April and May

  • Yes - just write ‘eventbrite listing’ in your description and we will contact you for the actual link when we work on the map in April and May.

  • Don’t worry it will come back - it is just part of our processing. While we are away for the Easter break the numbers will not always update - as there is a small manual intervention we have to do when someone edits their listing - so please don’t worry if your number disappears - we will fix it on our return.

  • Don’t worry we will fix this when we work on the map in April and May

  • Don’t worry this will get fixed when we work on the map in April and May - you can ignore this for now.

  • Your number will not stay the same as it is now! At the moment the map numbers are just in the order that artists registered.

In April and May we are organising the map so that the venue numbers are geographically sequential so that trail visitors can navigate the map numbers more easily - your number will be fixed before the trail in June.

  • Just indicate the correct hours in your description and we will fix this in the coming months so it reflects correctly on the website.

  • You can put in any image size and it will not get cropped or squashed - it will just get resized to fit the space. If you want it to take up as much of the width of the detail card as possible - then a 4:3 ratio is best.

  • The email with the edit link will have come from walthamstowarttrail@gmail.com and the title of the message is “We have received your response for Walthamstow Art Trail 2026 Registration”. It may have gone into your spam.

  • April 2nd 2026 at midday

  • April 8th for those who have already registered.

Miscellaneous Questions

  • The Walthamstow Art Trail is predominantly designed for local artists (of all kinds).

In order to take part and exhibit/perform, your work must be showcased at a venue based in the E17 postcode.

Artists/performers do not have to live or work in E17.

  • No - all types of artistic output can be showcased in the trail. We encourage artists of all kinds to take part!

  • Artists and venues are responsible for arranging their own public liability insurance. We know that Artists Newsletter has an affordable arrangement for artists here, but you are free to arrange insurance through any insurer you prefer. The policy should cover you for exhibiting your work and interacting with visitors at your venue.

  • Each participating artist or venue host is responsible for considering the specific risks associated with their own venue and display setup and ensuring reasonable precautions are in place. Because venues vary widely (homes, studios, shared spaces, shops, etc.), we don’t provide a single standard form.

Instead, we ask artists to think through the particular risks for their space — for example things like trip hazards, display stability, electrical equipment, access routes, and visitor flow — and make sure these are managed appropriately.

You do not need to submit a formal risk assessment document to us, but we ask that all artists review their venue and take reasonable steps to ensure it is safe for visitors before the trail begins. description

  • We have an artist resource page here. You can find the art trail logos to download and also a pdf full of information about being an artist / venue on the trail.

  • We are taking a break over the Easter period and we will not be checking emails/texts from Friday 3rd April up to Monday 13th April. If anything is urgent - don’t worry we will fix it when we are back - the art trail is not live till June - so we have time - so don’t worry! So if you listing is wrong, or the map is wrong, or something has disappeared etc - we will get to it on our return - thanks for your patience - we need a small break :)
